
Dr Kluftinger completed his medical school training in 1987 at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, graduating first in his class of 120 students and receiving the Hamber Gold Medal. He completed a rotating internship at the Victoria General Hospital, Victoria BC and General Surgical Residency at UBC, Vancouver. He then obtained further training in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Saskatoon City Hospital, Saskatoon, SK and worked for 7 years at Saskatoon City and Royal University Hospitals in Saskatoon, SK.
In 2000 he relocated to Kelowna BC and has been an active and busy member of the Surgical staff, having served as Division Head of General Surgery, Department Head of Surgery and numerous Hospital and University of BC Medical School committees.
He has over 33 years experience in General and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Endoscopy. He has a special interest in abdominal wall and hernia surgery and is an active member of the American Hernia Society. He is also a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, A Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, a member of the Saskatchewan Medical Association and Doctors of BC and a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners of The United States Of America.
