Dr. Alex Meldrum

MD, MEd, FRCSC

Dr. Meldrum received his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014 and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Calgary in 2019. Following residency, he pursued subspecialty training in hip and knee reconstruction and orthopaedic trauma.

Dr. Meldrum completed a complex hip and knee arthroplasty (replacement) fellowship at Dalhousie University in Halifax. This fellowship focused on primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, including computer-assisted surgery (navigation and robotics) and kinematic alignment in total knee arthroplasty.

He also completed an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. During his arthroplasty and trauma fellowships, Dr. Meldrum earned a Master of Education (Health Professions Education) through the University of Ottawa. He is also a current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor.

Dr. Meldrum is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary and an attending orthopaedic surgeon at Rockyview General Hospital.

Dr. Daniel Pincus

MD, PhD, FRCSC

Dr. Daniel Pincus is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery, including complex primary procedures and revision joint reconstruction.

He is known for particular expertise in minimally-invasive hip and knee replacement techniques, including hip resurfacing, DAA hip arthroplasty, and partial and total knee replacement, and has performed more than 3,000 of these procedures. Dr. Pincus serves as Fellowship Director for the Sunnybrook Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship Program, where he is actively involved in surgical training and education.

During his training and early career, he received several prestigious honours, including the Lawson Family Most Outstanding Graduate Award from the University of Toronto Orthopaedic Surgery Program and the Bernie Langer Award from the University of Toronto Department of Surgery, recognizing the most promising early-career surgeon.
