Let me take a moment to express my gratitude for the services Gateway Surgery supplied to me. I had extensive osteoarthritis in my left knee, which made my mobility very limited due to pain. Gateway Surgery coordinated all of my pre-surgery testing and consultations, as well as the surgery. My surgery was completed within two months and was a complete success and a positive experience. From the very start when I contacted Gateway everyone has been A-one. Starting with Jennie answering all our questions and emails in a very timely way, to getting information about procedures, scheduling, surgery and post surgery. Dealing with Dr. Kelly Johnston was enjoyable and professional (as enjoyable as surgeries can be). The hospital staff before during and after surgery were exceptional and professional. My hip replacement is awesome and I am doing everything I did before hip problems with no pain medication. I am extremely happy I went this route instead of waiting another 12-18 months in Manitoba.If and when the other hip gives me problems I will definitely follow the same route. I would also deal with it earlier to avoid the pain (apparently not getting any younger). These guys are the best!
We chose Gateway Surgery primarily because of the local component of the process for private knee replacement. While we needed to travel out of province for the surgery, the consultation was done locally, post-operative support would be available locally if required, and they had local physiotherapists to recommend for the rehab process. Our experience has been great. The team organized all the pre-op requirements and those all went well. The staff provided easily understandable pre-op and post-op material that answered most every question one might have, without the need to ask. We have been very happy with all aspects of the process and would not hesitate to recommend Gateway Surgery to arrange this type of surgery. If we ever need to use this service again we will turn to them.
I was so very fortunate to have been connected with Dr Johnston and his staff at Gateway Surgery to help me with my double knee replacement.
